
BORN RUSSIA 1891. HIS FAMILY LIVED AT 92 OSBORNE STREET, HULL. A BOOT MAKER. WELL KNOWN IN THE HULL MARKET PLACE.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL, DURING 1917 AND SERVED FOR 15 MONTHS WITH THE 38TH ROYAL FUSILIERS. THIS WAS A BRITISH JEWISH DIVISION. HE DIED OF MALARIAL FEVER,ON 14/10/1918, AGED 27. HE IS COMMEMORATED AT THE JERUSALEM WAR CEMETERY.
SAM WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE GRAND ORDER OF ISRAEL LODGE AND A MEMBER OF THE LODGE WHIST TEAM. OUT OF THE 65 LODGE MEMBERS, 58 ENLISTED.
HE LEFT £116 TO MORRIS ABRAHAMSON, BOOT MAKER, AT THIS WAS THIS PROBATE ADDRESS.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 12TH & 13TH DECEMBER 1918, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
HIS COUSIN LEAH ABRAHAMSON, AT 93, WEST PARADE, SPRING BANK, HULL, TRIED TO CLAIM HIS WAR PENSION, BUT WAS REFUSED (WAR PENSION RECORDS)
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE HULL JEWISH COMMUNITY ROLL OF HONOUR.
